The Holy Spirit – Our Comforter

Both the children were looking up into the lion’s face as he spoke these words.  “And all at once (they never knew exactly how it happened) the face seemed to be a sea of tossing gold in which they were floating, and such a sweetness and power rolled about them and over them and entered them that they felt they had never really been happy or wise or good, or even alive and awake, before.  And the memory of that moment stayed with them always, so that as long as they both lived, if ever they were sad or afraid or angry, the thought of all that golden goodness, and the feeling that it was still there, quite close, just around some corner or just behind some door, would come back and make them sure, deep down inside, that all was well.”
C.S. Lewis

Hello Christians,

Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.  [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] Amplified Bible (AMP)
John 14:27

But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth].  For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].
John 16:13 AMP

I watched a Christian movie the other day.  It was centered around a family that was going through a separation.  The separation was primarily the result of the husband and wife not being able to hold a conversation without sounding like they were attacking each other instead of calmly discussing and listening to each other.  They needed help to learn how to work together to resolve matters.

In the movie, a friend of the husband pointed this out to him and asked him to try listening to his wife, and being more gentle instead of sounding so combative.  The husband began to change and it was a great comfort to his wife and family.  In fact, the couple got back together and were happier than ever.

When the fall occurred, chaos and discomfort entered the world.  When Jesus told us the Father would send the Holy Spirit, He sent us “The Comforter.”  God wanted our lives to be blessed, to be comforted.  He wanted to bring comfort to our hearts, our marriages and families, our work, our sleep.  He wanted to bring His all-knowing and matchless help, love, joy, peace and comfort to every area of our lives.

Each day, Jesus gives us the opportunity to be comforted.  It’s accomplished by simply listening to His quiet voice speak to our hearts, “Peace, be still.  I’m with you.  I’ll show you the way.  I’ll comfort you…”

What joy is found when we listen to The Comforter.

26 But the [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things.  And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.
John 14:26 AMP

God bless you all.

Mark
