Verses God Gave Us

Mark’s Verses in Text Format

Below is a list of  the verses God gave us to begin restoring us and to help us not to become too discouraged along the way.  Many of the scriptures assisted us in our efforts to overcome the negative generational strongholds we knew were harming us and that we did not want to pass onto future generations.

Next, even though the Lord was identifying generational strongholds (enemy lies  we were  believing about ourselves) for us to be cleansed of, I (Mark) was still influenced by them and concerned they were being passed onto my precious Ann and daughters.  God saved my heart by telling me He’d be faithful to keep generational strongholds (and other sins operating in my life I needed to repent of) from taking root in their spirits if I would ask Ann and the girls to forgive me and tell them I was sorry whenever I’d catch myself committing one of them.  Jesus is just so loving and faithful.

I’ve written emails to encourage others to ask the Lord to help them identify any of their own destructive strongholds (enemy lies) so that families and future generations can be set free, indeed.  Often, I would read these verses, and Psalm 23 by itself, to the girls at bedtime.   It was so calming and reassuring.

We (my wife and I) know scripture is powerful like a two-edged sword and that it can put the enemy to flight.  When we first started using Bible verses to protect our spirits, minds and emotions, we did feel a little funny.  But, the more momentum we experienced in the spiritual realm, the more confidence and courage we had.  Kind of reminds me of Joshua 1:9, “Have not I commanded thee?  Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:  for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:9.”

Here are the verses God gave us:

Submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the devil, and
he will flee from you.  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw
nigh to you.  Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify
your hearts, ye double minded.
James 4:7-8

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of
the wicked, when it cometh.  For the Lord shall be thy
confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:  he leadeth me beside the still waters.  He restoreth my soul:  he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:  for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:  thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:  and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.  Psalm 23
