He Watches Over His Word To Perform It

It didn’t used to be like this. There was a time when I didn’t have God’s Word in me to do It’s mighty work. But now, I live for and love to feel His supernatural Word working in me each day.

Every day when I get up, I choose to stay conformed to this world or to be transformed by God’s Word with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word (I will watch over it to make sure that what I (God) said will happen does happen) to perform it.
Jeremiah 1:12

God so desires for us to walk in the freedom His Word brings into our lives. His Word teaches us the incredible secret and blessing of doing His Word instead of living life in our ways.

God watches over His Word to perform (to hasten) it. He does what He says He’s going to do in His Word. The end times events we see happening all around us tell us this is true.

He also watches over the Word we have in our hearts and makes sure it works in the life of anyone who does His Word, anyone who puts His Word into practice in their everyday life.

I was talking to someone when they said, “I know I should be doing it, but it’s just too hard to do the Word.”

They’re right in one sense. If you try to “do” the Word in your own strength – in today’s world and society – without asking for the help of the Holy Spirit, it will be very difficult to do the Word, to apply the Word to your life, to be transformed by His Word.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2

But, in Jeremiah 1:12, the Lord says He watches over His Word to perform it. The reason Ann and I put (memorize and apply) the Word in our lives is because the Holy Spirit brings to our minds exactly what we need when we need it. For instance, our car’s brake light is out on the left side. I thought I just needed to replace a burned out bulb, but it’s not the bulb so I started to think of how I was going to resolve this electrical issue. I could tell I was beginning to operate in my own understanding and beginning to take on care. Immediately, the Lord said, “Let Romans 8:28 cover it. It will all turn out okay.” I felt care leave. It was wonderful.

Now you might think that’s a trivial example to use to prove that God watches over His Word to perform it, but it wasn’t trivial to me after having so many migraine headaches lately. In fact, as His child, I’m finding that nothing is too trivial, too small for God to show me His love and His control of my life. ☺

Put the Word in you. Memorize it. If you do and if you ask the mighty Holy Spirit’s help in this, He will watch over His Word in you to hasten it, to put it to work in you and you will experience the freedom and joy the Word – Jesus – brings to our lives.

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
Psalm 119:11

Memorize God’s Word. Hide it in your heart so it will be available whenever you need it. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. The Holy Spirit will help you in this. Because He loves us so much, He loves to perform His Word.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105

Let His Word light the way before you. Wow, what a blessed adventure.

You (God) have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
Psalm 16:11

Holy Spirit: “Mark, as My child, you can let My Word have the supernatural deliverance and joy I intended for It to have in your life, everyday.”
_______

So I get done with this email and go for a walk down to the lake. In the distance, I hear some beautiful music playing. When I get to the lake, the song, “Be Thou My Vision” is playing over loud speakers. The Holy Spirit told me to listen to this song when His beautiful Presence came upon me in our bedroom one time years ago. I got teared up with His joy and just smiled.

This walk with the Lord is so real.

Thank you, Jesus!

So come on, let’s go. God has so much to show us this week as He watches over His Word to perform it.

The Reward For Following Jesus

Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us. Wow. Such an amazing truth to experience.

No matter what we face in life, when we’re doing the Word, God rewards us with His matchless joy. His supernatural joy is everything.

It’s so amazing to be strong in Jesus when you’re weak in your body. It’s a wonderful experience to feel His sweet Presence keeping you.

Annie and I love to share how, little by little, Jesus is changing our lives. We love to pass on the joy to others as often as we can because we know the difference He is making in our lives and marriage.

8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Peter 1:8-9

13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13

6 Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”
Isaiah 12:6

6 Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.
Psalm 27:6

10 and those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
Isaiah 35:10

We love it when He reminds us to let His peace reign in our hearts as we learn to be careful for nothing. We’re finding that, truly, the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Jesus makes all the difference.

God Is Not In The Wind Or Earthquake

17 And it came to pass, when they (angels) had brought them (Lot and his family) forth abroad, that he (an angel) said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain (The Lord), lest thou be consumed…

…24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

26 But (this is how we take on a troubled heart today. We refuse to look up to God and let end times events consume us) his (Lot’s) wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
Genesis 19:17, 24-26

“And when these things (end times events the media is focusing on that’s causing many to have troubled hearts) begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption (Jesus’ peace and calm in the storm brewing in the end times events) draweth nigh.”
Luke 21:28

11 And he said, Go forth (Elijah), and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:

12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
1 Kings 19:11-12

This is cool. The Lord told me this morning not to let my heart be troubled by not looking up. He said the world is becoming full of troubled hearts due to the end times we’re living in. He said most people will be consumed by troubled hearts. He went on to say that when I feel my heart being tempted to be troubled to remember that He is the still, small voice and that is how I’ll hear what He’s saying in these times. He wants me to concentrate on His still, small voice in order to quiet the trouble all around me. “Look up, Mark.”

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27

Be still (look up to God), and know that I am God:

I’m having more and more migraine attacks. I had an acupuncture treatment the other day at the recommendation of our regular doctor. I go back for about 3 more sessions. I meet with a neurologists next Tuesday who is a migraine specialist. Not sure where all this is leading, but we know God is in control and that makes all the difference. Annie and I are thanking and praising God in all things. We can even laugh about all of it. What a blessing that is. We’re so thankful for His Word that keeps us in His secret dwelling place.

Sudden Fear And The Favor Of God

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
Isaiah 59:19b

Boy, I got really ambushed this morning with sudden fear – one of the worst in a l-o-n-g time. And, I didn’t even realize that’s what was happening. Fortunately, my love for Annie saved me and I found her to tell her I was sorry for allowing myself to get so attacked this morning. She told me, “Remember what you’re always telling me and everyone else. When the day starts out with sudden fear, look for Jesus’ favor to show up during the day.”

I’m still reeling, but getting back into Jesus, into the dwelling place of the Most High.

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of

What Has Made Me A “Godly” Man?

God saw that I was filled with much fear. He stepped into my life and decided to change all that by showing me that fear will no longer be an option. He would make faith in Him my life. Wow.

“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.”
Romans 8:5

Without realizing it (this is why I pray for God to show me where I’m deceived), I was minding the things of the flesh, and I was not doing well. Minding the things of the flesh (the heavy-laden and burdensome fear, religious pride, bitterness, anger, confusion, etc.) was overwhelming and killing me.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colossians 3:2

What has made me a “Godly” man? The answer is simple. It was the great need for God in my life. God was about to “set my affection on things above,” and focus my mind on the things (and how wonderful and comforting the things above are) of His Spirit. Through His mercy, grace and love, God saw where my life was heading with all of the health issues and fear I had, and interrupted my life by showing me that He could deliver me from all my fears if I’d simply follow Him. Wow, what a great, loving God we have.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who (or what) can be against us?
Romans 8:31

The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.
Psalm 118:14

But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob (put your name here), and he that formed thee, O Israel (put your name here), Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

Believing and Acting On God’s Word Changes You

As long as I wasn’t believing Romans 8:28, 2 Corinthians 10:3-6, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, and the rest of God’s Word, I was miserable and I was making my family and others around me sad and upset as well. Unbelief is so contagious. Fortunately, for me, God stepped into my life and began to turn things around. He showed me how I could really begin to do and believe His Word. Now, I’ll never be the same. Praise Jesus!

Satan will fight your faith in God’s Word with all his might, but God is more powerful and will keep you if you’re willing to follow Him into the victory His Word can bring to our lives. Against all odds, believe the Word and act on it. It will change you.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Galatians 6:9

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17

But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
2 Thessalonians 3:3

because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1 John 4:4b

Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
1 Thessalonians 5:24

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

God’s Word Is His Love For Us

Jesus was sent to deliver us every day in our real lives. Whatever your need is, Jesus can supersede it. He is what and who we need. I’m telling you the truth.

When God sent Jesus to earth, He sent us His Love to show the immense degree He would go to – in His Love for us – to bring us back to Him, back to His dwelling place where we could live with Him – now, every day, and forever.

3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
Jeremiah 31:3

As we become more like Christ, we become filled with His love and we pass His Love onto others. This is what the Gospel does on earth. This is why people who know Him feel compelled to tell others about Jesus, feel led to share His wonderful, delivering and comforting Love with others. The Jesus in you comforts (loves) me when I need it, and the Jesus in me comforts (loves) you when you need it. And, on and on it goes. Pretty wonderful.

3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4

If you’ve ever had the Holy Spirit come on you and consume you, you know how incredibly wonderful He is. For that brief time, nothing else matters as you bask in Who He is, in His wonderful, consuming Presence. It’s so other-worldly and Heavenly.

I sent out yesterday’s email and sat here thinking about it. I began to feel God’s love, calm and comfort come over me. I could feel His covenant promises operating deep in me. It was so wonderful and consuming.

After I sent out yesterday’s email, I realized that God’s Word is really His love in printed page. He sent His Word – His Love – to heal and save us from our destructions. Wow, this just keeps getting better and better, precious people. From one cover to the next, His Word, the Bible, Jesus, was sent to help us to know how to live this life trusting in Him with all our heart. He wants to comfort us every day with Himself. Amazing.

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

Why does God command us to trust Him with all our heart? Because He wants every part of us to be covered by His matchless, delivering, comforting, all-powerful Love.

Wow…Truly, what Love is this?!

Be still, and know that I am God:
Psalm 46:10a

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. (My dear one) Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Psalm 23

Let His promises, His Word, overtake you, dear one.

Mmmm…Your Love for me, Father, is sooooo good.

Thanking and praising God in all things,

God’s Word Is Alive. How Wonderful Is That?!

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
Psalm 107:20

12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Hebrews 4:12

Boy, God’s Word is alive and powerful. I know that so many of you rely on God’s Word being alive. What does it mean for the Word to be alive? It means I can totally rely on scripture, on Jesus, to back me up. I can let It/Him do its work in my everyday life. It rescues me from destructions (Psalm 107:20). I can let the peace of God reign in my heart. I can know, beyond a shadow of doubt, that God is working all things together for my good and that I can be of good cheer in tribulations knowing that Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith, has overcome this world.

This is nothing more valuable and no better deal in the universe than knowing God’s Word is alive and powerful helping me to overcome fear, sudden fear, and everything else in this life if I’ll yield to the Word, to Jesus, and let it reign in my heart, mind and emotions.

Oh thank you God for sending Your almighty Word.

Hallelujah!

So come on, let’s go and see how wonderful our Savior is today and everyday as we choose Him, His Word, His matchless comfort and deliverance.

Happy Monday, everyone.

Stirred Up In The Lord

Inline image
I had another migraine yesterday afternoon. It was different in the way it presented. Got up this morning reeling a little bit from the impact it’s having on my brain and body. I made us coffee. We went out back and looked up at the gorgeous moon and stars. I was feeling pretty wimpy when the Lord began to stir me up in His Word. I love it when the Lord takes our weaknesses and pumps His power into us. Anyway, I got all fired up in the Lord. Man oh man, He is everything. His truths dispel fear and give us great courage in the Spirit.

Be strong and of a good courage…Only be thou strong and very courageous…Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: For the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest…Only be strong and of a good courage.
From Joshua 1

Don’t spend your time down here on earth. Look up and let Heaven stir you up in the things of the Lord. Truly, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Hallelujah and Amen!

8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

The Sabbath By Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn

Kimberly, in Oklahoma, sent this to me the other day. It really blessed Annie and me. Thank you, Kimberly. ☺

The following is taken from Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn’s March 2018 Newsletter.

In the rush of our lives, one of the hardest things to do is to rest. The Bible tells us that “we must labor to enter the Lord’s rest and that there is a Sabbath yet waiting for His people.” Messiah is called the Lord of the Sabbath. How do we enter into that Sabbath realm? The secrets of entering the Lord’s Sabbath are hidden in the very first book of the Bible, Genesis.

In Genesis it’s written that when God saw all that He had made, “He saw that it was good, and He rested from His works.” There’s a secret in this verse. Just as God looked at His works on the sixth day, in order to enter the realm of the Sabbath and the Shalom of God, we must also look at God’s works. If you focus on your own works, you’ll never enter rest because your works will never be completed, or perfect, or finished. So many believers are wrapped up in what they’re doing or not doing, or their attempts at being godly, or their failures. But as much as they do that, they will never enter into God’s rest. The first key is to get your eyes off your own work and onto the work of God. Instead of looking at what you’ve done or haven’t done, direct your heart to what God has done. His works are perfect. He saved you perfectly. He’s given you a perfect salvation, a perfect redemption, a perfect love, hope, faith, joy, peace and blessing.

Beyond that, God saw that it was good. So if you are to enter into His Sabbath, you must also see that it’s good. When we feel sorry for ourselves, we’re saying, “It’s not good.” Our thoughts, words, and actions are saying the very opposite of what God said. When you look at what other people have done to you, how they mistreated you, you’re saying, “It’s not good.” When you look at your failure, you’re saying, “It’s not good.” And as long as you say, “It’s not good,” you can never move out of the sixth day and into the seventh – you can’t enter into His rest.

But you might ask, “How can I say it’s good, if it’s not?” “My life is filled with problems in this world, and it’s a messed up place.” That might be true, but we can only say it is not good if we are looking at the world and not at God’s works. God works through your problems, your troubles, and your past. He works through everything in your life. God’s word promises you that “…He works all things for the good for those who love Him…”

This means, if you see God in all things and see His works in every part of your life, you also can say, “It is good.” Why? It’s simple! Because God is working in them, and God has intended to work all things for good.

Direct the eyes of your heart off of your circumstances and onto the beauty of His love and His salvation and say, “It is good.” And you will begin living in the realm of Messiah’s Sabbath.

Thanking and praising God in all things,

Mark

Let Go Of Everything And Experience The Fully Liberating Power Of Our Loving God

There’s something so supernaturally exciting and fulfilling about pushing through fear to find faith and release at the other side. It’s one of the most wonderful experiences we can have. God knows that. I really believe He rejoices whenever we have this kind of adventure in Him.

The other day, the incredibly challenging and comforting Holy Spirit told me we’re about to see and experience the supernatural in new, fresh ways. I sat there as He gave me some time to ponder what He meant. He told me I would need to be open to His leading in the days ahead. I got pretty excited. ☺

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Revelation 21:8

Mainly due to health issues, I’ve lived many years in fear. They’ve been oppressive, tormenting, intimidating, handcuffing, suffocating years. Fear is no way to live. It chokes the life out of us and makes us miserable. The devil’s plan is to use fear to steal, kill and destroy us. But, God turned the whole situation around for me and used those same years to force me to be close to Him.

Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called.

1 “Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”

2 “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”

3 The next morning Abraham got up early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him, along with his son, Isaac.
Genesis 22:1-3b

I love how there seems to be no hesitation on Abraham’s part and heart to obey God in this amazing matter. This is the blessing. To simply obey God. Abraham was about to experience a supernatural blessing he could not have envisioned. The same is ahead for us if we’ll obey God in the coming days.

And they overcame him (the devil and his fear) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Revelation 12:11

What in this life do I love more than Jesus? My kids, my wife, my home, my money, my health? What would I give up to have more/all of Him, to have all of the Kingdom? What would I give away to be totally set free from earthly fears? What would I part with to have total faith in my God?

The Kingdom of God is coming! And, it’s coming much faster than any of us know. Did you get that?

The Kingdom of God is coming! And, it’s coming much faster than any of us know.

God is shaking everything that can be shaken – including us, our own hearts, desires, wills, expectations, anything we’ve been depending on other than Him, etc. This isn’t a drill. This is the real thing. Anything in us that can be shaken needs to be let go of or, through fear, Satan will use it against us to separate us from God, from our Heavenly Father. Let “it” all go in the Name of Jesus. Do it now in your heart. Surrender everything to Jesus. Everything.

Jesus will give us the faith, grace, mercy and power to let go of everything that can be shaken in our lives if we’re willing to let Him do it in us.

Walk through Abraham’s test and see the magnificent, matchless glory of God. As He did in Abraham’s test, see God supply the lamb in your own life. Like Abraham, you will be so surprised to find out how much God loves you.

Only then will you be firmly planted on Christ the solid Rock Who can never be shaken. Only then, will you experience a new, supernatural freedom you never knew before.

So come on, child of God. Part with all fear. Hold nothing back. Nothing. Let go of everything and experience the fully liberating power of our loving Heavenly Father.

The Kingdom is coming. Can you believe it? Of course you can. ☺ Hallelujah!

Thanking and praising God in all things,

Mark

God Wants You For You

Here I (Jesus) am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone (that’s you and me) hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
Revelation 3:20

Wow, Jesus wants to have a meal with me. He wants that alone time with me…

His name was Pete. He lived across the street and was the father of my boyhood hero, Cal. Pete worked for the telephone company. Often, when we were outside on the street, Pete would come out and throw the football to us. He always talked with us like he was totally thinking of us at the time with nothing else on his mind. He really seemed to enjoy being with us and making us feel special in his fun way.

When I get alone with God I feel the power of Who He is, His rest and all that that means. He’s simply wonderful. Who He is changes me, makes me feel new, renewed, lifted, like I want to stay. I want Him to keep sharing what He knows, how He wants to make some changes in me that will make me more joyful, happier and free. And all of this happens as I take in the glory of His Presence.

I sometimes think we’re so goal oriented, chasing dreams, wearing out, going faster and faster, getting more and more done, and works performance-minded that we can’t even believe God wants us for Himself, that He wants us to be His alone, that He wants to be with us, that He wants to spend time and eternity with us – with you and with me. God loves one-on-one time with me. How do I know? I just know…

When I stop to be with Him; when I’m really His for a while; when I stop watching the clock; when I step out of the human race and into His place. Wow. It’s so fun, unwinding, and calming, and I never know what He’s going to say or do. I’m His, and He is all mine. That’s it.

Is it hard for you to believe that God wants you for you?Inline imageI belong to my beloved, and his desire is for me.
Song Of Solomon 7:10

You are His desire!

There’s So Much More Up ABOVE

I was out back this morning working on a couple of kitchen chairs I’m repainting. I looked up and saw a fairly large bob cat about 15 feet away partially hidden by a bush. While we’ve heard about them, we’ve never seen one. It reminded me of all the things that go on around us as we carry out our busy lives with work, sleep, travel, etc. What fun and a blessing it was to see that bob cat.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:1-3

There are two realms in this life. There is the natural, earthly realm, and the spiritual realm. The Bible states that the invisible, spiritual realm is more real and important than this earthly realm. In His Word, God tells us that Jesus came to give us life – life more abundant and free. The Heavenly realm where Jesus now resides has infinite life for those who choose to seek Him. It’s so easy for us to seek this natural realm with our whole heart. But, there’s so much more up ABOVE in the Heavenly realm. Open the Bible. Apply what it says to your life and let all of Heaven give you Jesus Who is the abundant life.

I heard a Jewish fellow say something beautiful yesterday. In the verse that talks about “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. They shall prosper that love thee,” the word “prosper” has nothing to do with money or things. Instead, it means that those who pray for the peace of Jerusalem will have “heart peace.” Isn’t that wonderful?

The abundant life Jesus has for us has much more to do with spiritual blessings than it does with money, worldly success, and the accumulation of things. If we have Jesus’ peace in our hearts, we won’t feel the need for things. When He fills our hearts, by comparison, everything else loses its importance.

38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed-or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:38-42

Oh, the riches of His glory.

Look up and enjoy the abundant life. Let Jesus give you heart peace…Nothing in this natural realm compares to Him.

Why I Choose To “Do” God’s Word

God sets before me each day life and death – Deuteronomy 30:19. He recommends choosing life, His Life.

I may not always like it at first, but when God chastens me (when He prunes, corrects or disciplines me), He’s showing me His love and care for me as His child.

Why do I try to do what the Bible says I should do? Why am I letting God show me how to live this life His way instead of living it my way, or the world’s way? Is it because I’m legalistic? Is it because I want to look super-religious? Is it because I think I’m better than someone else? No, it’s because living God’s way blesses my life. His ways teach me to think like He does; to see life as He does. God’s ways bring me a peace I didn’t have before. His ways are making my marriage a tremendous blessing. And His ways change me from glory to glory making me more like Him as I – with the help of the Holy Spirit – apply His Word, His Truths to my life. His ways add His Life to my life. What an amazing thing.

In the pages of the Bible, you can clearly see His rich, spiritual blessings (like His transforming, matchless contentment) will happen in the life of anyone who applies His Word to their life. God states His desire for our lives in His Word. He does so in order to bless our lives. His ways keep us from the destruction sin – our ways – create in our lives.

Like the blind man in , all I know is that once I was blind – my life was out of control in so many ways – but now I see. He wanted to open my spiritual eyes to Him, to all He could change in me that would bless me with His fruit of the Spirit, with a marriage dependent on Him, with His patience, joy, and rest.

I don’t always understand why He asks me to live this way or that, but I find that if I do what He asks of me, I gain more of Him, of His peace, strength, mercy, grace and joy.

Once I was in charge of my life and it wasn’t good. Now, I let Him lead, I let Him show me how to live this life, I yield to Him, and the difference is everything to me.

1 I (Jesus) am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
John 15:1-12

5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Hebrews 12:5-11

When Jesus Calls Me Back To Him

When Jesus leaves the 99 to rescue me…

I was thinking about how often I can be challenged to wander off from Jesus, from my Shepherd. Daily activities, today’s world, responsibilities – they can all lead me off away from Jesus. Sometimes, I get anxious thoughts, I begin to take on care, I begin to feel like I need to be self-sufficient, the cares of this world and life distract me, I may wander from Romans 8:28. When my thoughts get to this point, it’s so wonderful when Jesus breaks into my thoughts and calls me back to Him, to His truth that sets me free from care, from anxiety, from worry, from fear, from restlessness. I’m so thankful He comes to find me, the one sheep that’s missing, that’s gone off in his own thoughts, that’s not taken a thought captive and been led astray.

Oh, the precious voice of the Good Shepherd, Jesus. His voice, His truth always brings me back to green pastures beside the still waters, back to the fold where I’m safe and free. Truly, the Lord is my Shepherd.

What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray and gets lost, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountain and go in search of the one that is lost?
Matthew 18:12

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 10:27-28

Victory Over The Flesh

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57

I don’t honestly know of a sweeter victory than the victory over the flesh that Jesus can give us.

For The Lord Shall Be Thy Confidence!

Wow, what a powerful title for today’s email…

I have to say that having CCPTSD for decades, there is nothing like learning that the Lord, the Almighty One, the Lion of Judah, the King of kings and Lord of lords is my confidence. I could never thank Him enough for saving me from the destruction He’s bringing me out of, all the time when He wasn’t my confidence, when I was trusting in everything but Him. Make the Lord (and nothing else) your confidence. You’ll never be the same. The “rest” you’ll enter into as He becomes your confidence is so sure, peaceful, secure, comforting and strong.

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked (those who are trusting in something/anything other than the Lord), when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Proverbs 3:25-26

Wow, what a powerful verse. When the Lord is your confidence, you’ll know you’re dwelling in the secret place of The Most High.
