One Step At A Time

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners (like when I was living “my ways.”), nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night (now that Jesus is teaching me His ways – they’re better).  3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:17-19

I wasn’t always the super-fantastic guy I am today.  Yeah, that’s where you’re supposed to chuckle…☺

All kidding aside, when God began working in my life to help me come away from “my ways,” He began changing me a little bit at a time.  He knows what needs to happen in our lives, and the order of changes that need to take place so we can experience more and more of His love, rest, peace and joy.  A lot of growing in Jesus takes time and for good reason.  We learn a lot about the fruit of the Spirit while growing slowly but mightily in Him.

With me, the first step I remember was taking out the trash without complaining about it.  I know it might sound funny and not very spiritual, but God wanted me to begin to love Annie in this practical way (Jesus is really practical) and knew it would mean a lot to her heart for me to pursue her by being joyful about taking out the trash.

Let God show you how to begin to turn things around in your heart and life. He’ll be faithful to bring you along in His timing.  He loves us SO MUCH.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18

being confident of this very thing, that He who hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the Day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6

Christ Or Worry

Hello Fellow Christians,

In the past, I’ve actually been tempted to worry about my kids thinking doing so would somehow keep them safe.

I’ve worried about money thinking we’d never run out if I just kept worrying about it.  Pretty silly when I think about that just now and how much Jesus wants us to cast our cares on Him so we can rest in Him.

Over the years, I’ve often noticed that people at work who looked like they were worrying about their work and the company, and appeared to be weighed down with responsibility, were the very people who got raises and promotions.

When the Lord began to set me free from the anxiety and panic that had wreaked havoc in my life for so many decades, I had a real dilemma.  How could I be truly free of worry, let Jesus develop His joy in my life and keep my job, or expect pay increases and promotions?

Well, I had to decide if I was going to follow Christ or this world’s ways.

I needed Jesus so much due to my health issues that He showed me I didn’t really have any other choice than to follow Him away from anxiety, panic and the heavy weight of “care.”  I did get a few raises and a promotion, but eventually I got laid off even though the owner of the company expressed my great work ethic in front of a number of company people.

Now I’m not saying I was laid off because God was making me over with His peace, rest and joy, but I’m sure glad I didn’t choose to mimic the people who looked full of worry and responsibility.

I wouldn’t trade what Jesus has done in me for anything this world offers.  No way.  I don’t know exactly what the Lord has in store for providing for us regarding the rest of our lives, but I do know He’ll be faithful and keep us growing in His matchless liberty.

The “rest” is leaving it up to Him and His timing in all things.

7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:7

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.  2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.  3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God:  many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
Psalm 40:1-3

Living By Faith

I don’t always know how God’s going to work all things together for my good.  Now, I don’t spend time thinking about how He’s going to do that.  Instead, now I have a “knowing” that He’s going to work things together for my good and it’s an incredible feeling of anticipation and understanding that I didn’t have before.  It’s such peace…

While being raised, like so many others, I was learning to be happy with God when things were going right in my life and to be angry and upset when things weren’t going the way I wanted them to, you know, the way I thought they should go – it was kind of a spiritual “no man’s land”.  I was up one minute and down the next.  I thought, “If God’s working all things together for their good, why are Christians living like that isn’t true?  Christians seemed to be like the world sometimes with their worry and stress, and then acting all holy and reverent at other times.  If this is Christianity, why are so many people involved in it and why was I wasting time on it?”

But then, through my ill health and broken dreams, God was about to show me what He really has in store for anyone who will take Him at His Word, for anyone desperate enough to follow His advice no matter the amount of opposition, no matter how hard the enemy tried to keep them from discovering the secrets to consistently living with God’s peace, rest and joy.

“Remember, Mark, your peace is not dependent on what’s going on around you.  If it is, the enemy’s always going to do what he wants with you.  Your peace is not to be a fair-weather peace.  I (God) want you to have all-weather peace, all-weather rest in your spirit, all-weather joy.”
Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn (Edits mine)

Oh, praise Jesus! He’s teaching me to live by real faith – faith that He’s always with me and using everything in my day to work together for my good.  My peace, rest and joy are no longer tied to what’s going on in my life.  God is setting me so free from circumstances and conditional Christianity and it’s the most wonderful thing in life.

And, He has this type of true liberty for everyone…☺

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin (not believing Romans 8:28 was my sin so I was the servant of worry and unrest) is the servant of sin.

35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever:  but the Son abideth ever.

36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
John 8:31-36

Happy Monday: That Even The Wind And Sea Obey Him!

Happy Monday,

24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves:  but he (Jesus) was asleep.

25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?  Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
Matthew 8:24-27

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1

“You are all around me on every side; you protect me with your power.  Your knowledge of me is too deep; it is beyond my understanding.”
Psalm 139:5-6 GNTD

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5

always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5:20

God’s on His throne and in control.  He’s working all things together for our good.  He’s helping us to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.  As a result, we can praise and thank Him in all things.

that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Have a blessed week in Jesus.

God bless,

Heaven

12 So (God) teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Psalm 90:12

“Behold, You (God) have made my days as handbreadths (short, about 3″ – 4”), And my lifetime as nothing in Your sight; Surely every man at his best is a mere breath. Selah.
Psalm 39:5

10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
Psalm 90:10

Boy, this life is going by so fast.  Seems like not that long ago I was in high school and now I’m 65.  Makes me think about how quickly I’ll be in Heaven.  The time will fly by until then, and then I’ll be with Jesus, forever.

Living for Jesus is all that matters.  That’s what Bible and the years have taught me.   Jesus and Heaven will be here soon.

Keep Heaven on your mind.  Let the joy of being there with our Lord fill your thoughts and bring you great joy.

This life’s flies by, and eternity is forever…☺

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:  be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

5 For (Because) the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 100:4-5

It’s amazing that we even know Jesus, that He’s called us to be His children.  Choosing Jesus Every Day is all about choosing His ways every day to live the abundant life He made available to us through His example and Word.

Thank you, Jesus, for dying for us and for showing us The Way to true life.

18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18

I Had To Learn The Tremendous Value Of Choosing Jesus Every Day

6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Hebrews 12:6-7

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Colossians 3:15-17

10 Be still, and know that I am God:
Psalm 46:10a

It took me a while.  Guess I’m a slow learner when it comes to learning the value of, and adopting, God’s ways.  I was kind of a strong-willed person and could be a clever manipulator.  It certainly never brought me true peace and rest, and I definitely wasn’t “still” in my emotions, mind and spirit.  God had to bring some real pressure on me to help me see that doing things His way is best so I could have His peace and enter His rest.  His ways give me His joy.

I came across a really great quote yesterday.  It reminds me of how important it is to renew our minds to the Word of God, to His ways.  He loves us so much and wants to bless us which is the result of living this life according to the teachings in the Bible.

That’s why I choose Jesus every day.  His peace, rest and joy is what I need every day.

The Fought-Over Life

The Fought-Over Life
By Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn

Tiny Israel is the most fought over land in human history.  Fought over by the ancient pharaohs, Amorites, Canaanites, Philistines, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persian, Romans, Mohammedans, Mamelukes, Crusaders, Ottomans, French, British, Arabs, and finally Israel again – the Jewish people

You’d think with all that fighting, Israel was filled with natural resources and riches.  It has almost nothing except that it belongs to God which makes the stakes there especially high.  From there the kingdom and the blessing will come.

You might feel like life is a battle.  The reason is because you belong to God and your life is precious.  There’s a high calling on it and a promise of great things to come.  It’s worth the fight, and the enemy knows it.  His job is to discourage you from persevering and inheriting the blessing.  He knows how precious and how high the promise and the calling is on your life.

Be encouraged, fight the good fight, and keep going until you inherit the blessing.  You knew you had a fight, but now you know you’ve got something worth fighting for.

Be encouraged, take the fight and the resistance as a sign of the greatness of God’s blessings, and press on!

10 A final word:  Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.  12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.  13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil.  Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.  14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.  15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.  16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.  17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.  Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
Ephesians 3:10-18

Happy Mondays and God’s Mercy New Every Morning

I really like Mondays.  They’re the beginning of a new week, new opportunities, fresh starts, etc.  Mondays kind of remind me of God telling us in His Word that His mercies are new every morning – He gives us a fresh start to be doers of the Word every single morning.  That’s such faithful grace and love.

21 Yet I still dare to hope
when I remember this:
22 The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
23 Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
Lamentations 3:21-23 NLT

Happy Monday!

Heaven

I walked out the front door this morning and saw a bright, complete rainbow.  Couldn’t help but think of my Heavenly Father.  What a joy it was.

So much awaits us in Heaven. ☺

3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead.  Now we live with great expectation, 4 and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.
1 Peter 1:3-4 NLT

Children Of His Grace And Mercy

Wow, so much to write about these days…God is so good…All the time.  I’m seeing this more clearly each day.

Even in the Great Tribulation spoken about in the Bible, God is doing everything He can to get people to look up, to repent and to be saved from destruction.  God is so amazing.  His ways are beyond finding out (Romans 11:33).

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2 Peter 3:8-10

4 They were told not to harm the grass or plants or trees, but only the people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

17 And in my vision, I saw the horses and the riders sitting on them.  The riders wore armor that was fiery red and dark blue and yellow.  The horses had heads like lions, and fire and smoke and burning sulfur billowed from their mouths.  18 One-third of all the people on earth were killed by these three plagues—by the fire and smoke and burning sulfur that came from the mouths of the horses.  19 Their power was in their mouths and in their tails.  For their tails had heads like snakes, with the power to injure people.

20 But the people who did not die in these plagues still refused to repent of their evil deeds and turn to God.  They continued to worship demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood—idols that can neither see nor hear nor walk!  21 And they did not repent of their murders or their witchcraft or their sexual immorality or their thefts.
Revelation 9:4; 17-21

I’ve been reading through the Bible’s New Testament and have finally gotten to the book of Revelation.  I read chapter 9 yesterday and stopped to think about what I’d just read…

I just kept thinking, “Why did You put Your seal on me, Lord?  You could have so easily just skipped over me and not picked me to live closely to You.  It makes no sense to me that You love me like You do.  I can’t understand such wonderful grace – It’s far beyond human comprehension.  It would have been so easy for me to have been one of the “people” You talk about in verses 20 and 21 in chapter 9.  God, I want You to know that I’m thankful beyond words or feelings to have been saved from destruction.  I want to thank You for helping me to cling to You when I am weary, whenever I feel like I can’t go on in my walk with You.  I don’t know what else to say other than thank you, Jesus.”

I have to tell you, folks, that I’m SO thankful for my infirmities, my health and work issues.  It’s true.  For the longest time, before I began praising and thanking God for them (1 Thessalonians 5:18 as well as other verses), I was so confused and angry about my health and work situation.  But, you see, I’m realizing more and more that they were the very things God allowed in my life to keep me focused on Him and His ways, the very tools it took to plant a broken heart and a contrite spirit in me.  I know this to be true in my heart.  I’m sure that without them in my life, like David, I would have gone astray (Psalm 119:71).

I’m merely a child of His grace and mercy.  Grateful beyond anything I could ever write, say or do for You, Jesus…

God bless,

Mark

For His (God) Name’s Sake

Covenant:  contract, agreement, undertaking, commitment, guarantee, warrant, pledge, promise, bond.

When God makes a covenant with us, He makes it based on the blood of Jesus, our Redeemer.  The covenant is sealed with Jesus’ blood.  That’s how seriously God takes covenants.

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent:  hath he said, and shall he not do it?  or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Numbers 23:19

“For His Name’s sake” in Psalm 23 means that God means to keep His covenant with anyone who covenants with Him.  If you’ve asked Jesus into your heart to be your Savior, God’s made a covenant with you that He intends to keep.  Everything (God becomes our shepherd, I shall not want, green pastures, still waters, a restored soul, fear no evil, a table in the presence of mine enemies, dwelling in the house of the Lord, forever, etc.) in Psalm 23 is what He intends to give you and do for you as His child.  He will spare nothing to do it because, unlike man, God doesn’t break covenants (Numbers 23:19, above).

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:  he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul:  he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:  for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:  thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:  and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 23

“Understanding” – The Key To Faith, Peace, Rest and Joy In Jesus

Why am I SO thankful to God for Romans 8:28 and for Merlin Carothers’ books?  Well, having panic disorder, anxiety disease, and other chronic health issues; being taught, from an early age, to react in fear to circumstances, Romans 8:28 began to teach me that I really can trust God with everything.  I can’t begin to tell you what a difference living by faith (understanding that God is working all things together for my good all the time) – and no longer having to live by fear (before I knew God was working everything for my good) – has meant to me, to my family.  That’s why when I get to Heaven, I’ll throw my crown at Jesus’ feet.  I owe Him everything.

*******

The following is taken from pages 3-4 in the wonderful book, “Power in Praise” by Merlin Carothers.  Once anyone begins to grasp what the Holy Spirit is conveying through Merlin’s discussion on “understanding,” fussing, fretting, obsessing and worry begin to fade, and their life takes on a real, Heavenly peace and joy.

*******

“I’ve met many people who are able to praise God for their circumstances simply because they accept the word of the Bible that they are supposed to praise God in everything.  Praising Him, they soon experience the results of an attitude of consistent thanksgiving and joy; and in turn, their faith is strengthened, and they can continue to live this way.

Others find it a little more difficult (I – Mark- was like this).  “I just don’t understand” they say, “I try praising God, but it is so hard for me to believe that He really has a hand in all the horrible things that have happened to me lately.”

We say we don’t understand and some of us get stuck right there; our understanding becomes a real stumbling block in our relationship with God.  But God has a perfect plan for our understanding, and when we use it His way, it isn’t a stumbling block, but a wonderful aid to our faith.

For God is the King of all the earth, said the psalmist.  Sing praises in a skillful psalm and with understanding (Ps. 47:7 AMP).

We’re not supposed to push our understanding out of the way, grit our teeth, and say, “It doesn’t make sense to me, but I’ll praise the Lord if it kills me, if that’s the only way I can get out of this mess!

That’s not praising, that’s manipulating.  We’ve all tried to manipulate God, and it is wonderful to know that He loves us too much to let us get away with it!  We are to praise God with our understanding, not in spite of it.

Our understanding get us into trouble when we try to figure out why and how God brings certain circumstances into our lives.  We can never understand why and how God does something, but He wants us to accept with our understanding that He does it.  This is the basis of our praise.  God wants us to understand that He loves us and that He has a plan for us.

And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into His plans (Romans 8:28).

Are you surrounded by difficult circumstances right now?  Have you been struggling to understand why they have come to you?  Then try to accept with your understanding that God does love you and has allowed those circumstances because He knows that He can bring good out of this for you.  Praise Him for what He has brought into your life; do it deliberately and with your understanding.”

God bless you all,

Mark

Our Faithful God Inhabits Our Praises

Boy, I got really attacked spiritually last night and my sleep ended with another overwhelming, hopeless nightmare.  As a result, I got up “feeling” pretty defeated.  I have to admit, these kinds of nights occur less frequently than they used to.

Anyway, I got up not “feeling” like I wanted to thank and praise my Lord – Jesus is showing me feelings don’t have to control me/us.  The Holy Spirit has been so faithful to help me respond (like a reflex) to such defeating feelings with praising God that I began to lift up praises in my heart to Jesus.

Wow, Ann and I came out to the living room to have our morning coffee and the Lord gave us a beautiful time in Him.  We put on a Marty Nystrom song (A Broken Spirit And A Contrite Heart) the Holy Spirit reminded me of and just listened as the Holy Spirit kept giving us so many truths that strengthened us – He was telling us about all of the work He’s done in us to build His love, compassion, hope, mercy, peace and rest in our hearts.  We had so much joy we began crying so hard we couldn’t speak at times.  It was so heavenly and fortifying.

God is SO faithful, precious people.  SO FAITH-FULL.

Jesus reminded me that where He’s taking us is to the place where we’ll always be able to sleep in the storms of life.  Only He can do such a work in us, dear ones.  We’re just learning how to lay down in the boat.  No storm can harm us when we have Jesus, the Prince of Peace, with us in our boat (our lives).

Truly, He restoreth my soul…Asleep in the storms.

God bless,

Mark

Today!

I’m still learning more and more about the deep blessing of contentment…

11 Not that I speak in respect of want:  for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound:  every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Philippians 4:11-13

I spent so many years hoping for a brighter day, a day when my health would return and my occupational and financial dreams would come true.  This kind of thinking and trap can lead to dissatisfaction with life, anxiety, and an unhealthy longing that robs us of today.  So how do I stop the “when” cycle?

I’m hoping the following helps many who wait for something more out of life and, as a result, miss what Jesus wants us to enjoy and learn from every moment of “today.”

These are the good old days.  So many people are trying to get on with their lives, so many won’t be able to be in and enjoy today if answers to their prayers appear delayed…

As most of you know, I’ve been dealing with health issues most of my life.  I’ve often felt like if I could just get well, then I could do and be what I’m supposed to be doing and being, then I’d be happy.  Not getting beyond the health issues caused frustration, and confusion.  It could make me hard to live with.

The other day, I was thinking about all of this again and the Lord told me, again, “Mark, these are the gold old days.  Live them and love those around you.  Lay your “whens/thens” down at the foot of My cross and leave them there.  Don’t regret these days and let them frustrate you, steal your peace, joy and rest.  Stop trying to live beyond today.  You must learn to not let circumstances steal today, steal your peace, steal the moment.  Enjoy today by relying on Me to be your source of joy.  Focus on Me and I’ll show you that right now, today, is a good old day.  And always remember, I work all things together for good including today.”

Have a great today!

God bless,

Mark

But, “With God, All Things Are Possible”

Hello Dear Christian Brothers and Sisters,

I (Jesus) am the vine, ye (anyone who’s asked Him into their heart) are the branches:  He that abideth (learns about and grows in Jesus’ character) in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:  for without me ye can do nothing.
John 15:5

When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”  But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:25-26

In our own strength, it’s impossible to have a change of heart (repent), to become like Jesus, to live the abundant life with all of its benefits and blessings.  But, with God all things are possible – Repentance; becoming unselfish; healthy, loving marriage; forgiveness; a changed heart; Godly love for others; patience, understanding, compassion and mercy.

Once we ask Jesus into our hearts, we can simply ask Him to help us change and to become more like Him.  Although it can take time for change to take place in our lives, through the Holy Spirit, Jesus will help us become more like Him while we learn the joy and protection of living in the secret place of the Most High.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28

It’s wonderful that God doesn’t ask us to strive.  He asks us to seek Him and His help as we learn to be like Jesus.

God bless,

Mark

He Shall Direct Our Paths

Trust in the Lord (Who has infinite knowledge and wisdom and Who can see the whole picture) with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

Isn’t it wonderful that we get to trust in the Lord and not have to rely on our own instincts which can be so misleading?  Thank You, Jesus.

Happy Monday, everyone.  Trust in the Lord – What a comfort.

God bless,

Mark

Heaven

Hello Everyone,

This week, I received the following email from Lori.  It was really a blessing so I asked Lori if I could share it with you.

Good Morning Mark,
I just wanted to share with you that my Dad was called home last Saturday morning.  Although I carry the pain of not having him here on earth, I find rest and peace that he is celebrating and in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!  Praise God!!  I was with him every day of the last week and by his bedside throughout the night of his passing.  I must have fallen asleep and his passing was peaceful.  I didn’t hear anything.  My Dad is free!!  Free without pain & suffering and loving his heavenly and new body!! 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you for all the many years of friendship and your words that poured into me every morning!!

In His Grip,

Lori

Thank you, Lori, for sharing this with us.  Please be praying for Lori.  Thank you, everyone.

This life is all about loving each other and “looking up” to all that awaits us in Heaven.

God bless,

Mark

Released From Oppression – Romans 8:28

Hello Dear Christians,

Like he tempted Adam and Eve in the garden, satan comes to us with his destroying thought, “hath God surely said?”

As long as I (Mark) didn’t believe and trust what God said in Romans 8:28, I couldn’t believe that God was really in control of my life working all things together for my good.  As a result, I was miserable living with fear, anger and the torment of the enemy’s overwhelming, oppressive, defeating thoughts.

“If anyone could tell you the shortest, surest way to all happiness and perfection, he must tell you to make it a rule to yourself to thank and praise God for everything that happens to you.  For it is certain that whatever seeming calamity happens to you, if you think and praise God for it, you turn it into a blessing.”
William Law, English clergyman, Eighteenth Century

“I thank God for my handicaps, for through them I have found myself, my work and my God.”
Helen Keller

“Blessed is he who submits to the will of God; he can never be unhappy.  Men may deal with him as they will…he is without care; he knows that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.”
Martin Luther

“Cry for grace from God to be able to see God’s hand in every trial, and then for grace…to submit at once to it.  Not only to submit, but to acquiesce, and to rejoice in it…I think there is generally an end to troubles when we get to that.”
Charles H. Spurgeon

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

Yes, God has surely said He’s working all things together for our good.  You can rely on it.  Trust that God is working all things together for your good and be set free from the enemy’s oppression.

God bless you all,

Mark
