Now I (God) Do A New Thing…

I’m sitting here with a pretty painful migraine this morning.  But, God has me praising Him over what I’m about to share.  It’s so exciting how God works.

Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19

You have to admit, it’s really cool when the following happens to you.

Over the last several days, the Holy Spirit has been working a new work in my life.  He’s been teaching me more about how to live in the Spirit and not by my flesh.  He’s teaching me the incredibly liberating life of reacting to more of life through His peace, joy and faith.  It’s enabling me to trust His care of me in a deeper way.  It’s something I was first introduced to many years ago by Pastor Jon at Christ’s Center Church in Oregon, but the Holy Spirit is making it a reality in my life and it’s so wonderful.  God’s so faithful.  I wasn’t even thinking about it and He just started making me aware of His power changing me in this area.  Isn’t it the most interesting and amazing thing when God begins to change you without you even initiating it?

It was neat when God quickened Isaiah 43:19 to me yesterday afternoon when I told Ann about the work God’s doing in me.  God told us that while Isaiah 43:19 often applies to material needs, it applies equally to the spiritual newness of life the Holy Spirit imparts in our lives.  What a great Father we have.  His love just keeps coming as we continue walking with Him by choosing to follow Jesus each day…

God bless,

Mark
