Becoming Free In Jesus

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23-24

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Hebrews 12:1

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:31-32

It’s so wonderful to walk in God’s love, to let His love (His truths) guide me each day. Doing so keeps me from some sins I can fall into like bitterness, anger, resentment, pride, jealousy, being offended, etc. When I choose Jesus, I’m choosing to turn away from these sins. The result is that I’m free from these awful sins that can make my life miserable. I want to get to know Jesus more so I can be more and more free from the weight, wages, and consequences of sin. Who wouldn’t want to get free from such sins?

Jesus is so wonderful. Not only does He keep the entire universe operating, He helps me along life’s narrow – and free – way.

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
Psalm 119:165

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105

I keep asking the Lord to help me become more and more like Him – Free, as I follow Him and learn how to walk with Him every day.

God bless,

Mark
