We Tend To Believe Satan’s Lies

Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there.  Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war.
Revelation 19:11

Have you thought about being worthless lately, or overwhelmed?  Discouraged and stuck in some self-defeating or self-beating thought patterns?  Scared of what the future holds?

We tend to believe lies about ourselves.  Sure, we have a sin nature, and we’re going to make mistakes and questionable decisions now and then.  But, that doesn’t mean I have to swallow and rehearse, over and over again, the devil’s lies.

I’ve found that God is always trying to get me to look up – To believe His truths that set me free.  There’s a real tug-of-war going on in me that renewing my mind to God’s Word is helping me to win.  Really.  And, it’s exciting and so liberating.

The enemy is always trying to get us to believe his destructive, overwhelming, pitiful thoughts.  For that reason, I take thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ; I thank and praise God in all things; and I remind myself that God is working all things – that’s right, all things – together for my good.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:4

That’s how I overcome the devil’s attempts to take me down the spiraling path of believing his lies.  Those three keys are my armour.  The armour keeps me believing God, His Truth, His Word – And He gives me the victory over any enemy.  In fact, He – faithful and true – is my victory!  Praise God!

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles (strategies) of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about (a belt) with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod (put on your feet) with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench (stop) all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

God bless,
