Every man did what was right in their own eyes – Exactly what so many are doing today. In other words, they did not “do” the Word of God. They did something else instead. They thought they could skirt God’s Word and get away with it. The Bible says God is not mocked. This means those who think they can get away with rebelling against God’s Word are wrong and the consequence of their choice will be death in one form or another.
25 In those days (sounds a lot like today) there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
