Hiding Places

It’s funny how we often choose our own cumbersome yoke and heavy burdens over God’s easy yoke and light burden.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
John 8:36

What are we hiding behind?

Really, no matter where I might be hiding, God will find me in order to set me free indeed.

When I was small and got afraid, I often wanted to hide.  I thought that might fix things.  It could seem so safe under my bed covers…

I wasn’t even aware of it, but I used to hide from God – I may still be to some extent or another  ☺.  I would hide behind my plans, guilt, doubts, the fear of man, unbelief, shame, goals, anger, wanting to be stronger than I am, unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, fear, worry, my love for this world, the love of money and what I thought it could do for me, my illnesses, striving, wanting to be “someone,” the drive to show others I was smart and/or valuable, unknowingly – hiding behind the devil’s lies, jealousy, pride, insecurities, confusion, other distractions, etc.

Hide ‘N Seek – God will seek us out to reveal all that He is to us.

One by one, God is removing my hiding places to reveal His beautiful, wonderful, freeing, healing and will for my life.  When God begins to show you Himself, the hiding places begin to vanish.  Thank You, God.

28 Come to me (Jesus), all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30

Thanking and praising God in all things,

Mark
