Spiritual Attacks

Annie and I are getting into some incredible Christian books. God is strengthening us in our spirits and teaching us such amazing things that are setting us more and more free indeed from our pasts. God is so faithful and loving. He continues to perform His matchless, mighty work in us.

because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1 John 4:4b

These things I (Jesus) have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33

So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
Isaiah 59:19

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:13

Sunday night, I had the most intense and severe spiritual attack dream I’ve ever had. It was so real. I’ve told you how I often have nightmares that mostly make me feel like a complete failure. This was totally different. In the dream, the devil was trying to kill me. It looked like he would be successful. Somehow, I woke up right before he finished me off. I had goosebumps over my entire body and my body hair was all standing up and I was like that for a little while. I don’t normally wake Ann up when I have nightmares, but I had to this time. I told her something was trying to kill me. I knew it was in our bedroom because I could sense the very thick, dark presence of a being that was not leaving. After holding Ann’s hand for a while, I got out of bed and walked around readying myself for whatever. It was quite an experience. I had to put on an episode of “The Chosen” on the little TV and DVD player we have in our bedroom. About a couple of hours later, I got up and turned off the TV, got back in bed, began saying verses, praised and thanked God again and fell asleep.

During our coffee time Monday morning, Ann and I talked about what had taken place, how we both hate bullies and the devil and how we are done with fear. We read some Christian material, told the devil to leave and went about our day.

Know and live the Word by putting it into practice in your everyday life. Doing so will keep you.

I’m telling you this because you may encounter more severe spiritual attacks if you are following Jesus today. I didn’t want you to feel alone or isolated if you’re having spiritual attacks. God will get you through them. He’ll calm you down and remind you that He’s in control and that He can handle anything the enemy sends your way. You belong to Jesus. Always remember that. Praise God.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
James 4:7-8

Onwards and upwards, fellow Christian soldiers in Christ. Hallelujah!

And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.
Revelation 19:16

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2 Thessalonians 2:8

Thanking and praising God in all things,

Mark
