Stop Talking>Living Fear

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
James 1:5-8

I heard a Christian talk about how they worry about one of their kids. I thought, “I am so thankful, Father, that You are teaching me how to walk in faith in my life.”

Like Annie and I used to do, why do so many Christians act live the unsaved in so many areas of their lives? Some of it is because they don’t know how to be different than those in the world. Some of it has to do with how little real teaching there is on how to stop living fear, worry, and the rest that keep them living like people in soap operas like Annie and I did for too many years.

One of the most wonderful gifts God has given Annie and me is pointing out to us how much we were double minded. We talked fear, worry, jealousy, bitterness, offence and the others more than we let words of faith come out of our mouths. I mean, everyone else was doing the same thing, right? When God begins to show you something, it’s always best to listen and to obey no matter what anyone else thinks. He started showing us all the scriptures about the importance of not speaking fear. He began to shut our mouths regarding fear talk. Hallelujah.

One of the biggest reasons I thank and praise God in all things is because it’s helping me to break the habit of worry, jealousy, offence and all the rest of the actions and talk that was defeating me. Praising and thanking God in all things lines me up with God’s thoughts and ways and that makes all the difference.

Stop talking fear. Talk faith. See the difference it makes in your life and the lives of those around you.

Don’t know how to talk and think faith? Ask God to show you how to do it. He will be faithful to show you. You can also look at the verses at our ChoosingJesusEveryDay.com site. They are filled with the kind of faith that dispels fear and the other life-sapping lies of the enemy.

16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Ephesians 3:16-21

Thanking and praising God in all things,

Note: While we may not agree with everything a particular church or Christian group teaches or believes, there are times when we can be blessed by something outside the realm of our current understanding of God.
