Is It The Devil or Sin?

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but having itching ears, they shall heap to themselves teachers in accordance with their own lusts.
2 Timothy 4:3

12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Matthew 24:12-13

You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.
Genesis 4:7

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Hebrews 12:1

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Romans 6:1-2

8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
1 John 1:8-10

32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” 33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” 34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
John 8:32-36

I was watching something the other day that made me think the following yesterday. God is so good and faithful to His children.

In the last days, I believe many (It has happened to me) will be deceived into thinking the devil is the cause of all their problems/troubles. I say this because there seems to be less and less teaching and understanding on, and of, sin. Please be sure to ask Jesus if there is anything you’re doing that can be causing you trouble in your spirit, mind and life. He’ll be faithful to show you if you’re merely being spiritually attacked by the enemy or if there is something in your life that is hindering spiritual freedom from operating in your life. The Bible addresses sin and that’s a blessing because all we need to do is stop (repent) any sinful behavior in order to be set free from the ramifications of sin. This is when times of refreshing can come upon us.

Praise God for His liberating truth and that He loves us enough to point out any behavioral traps we can be set free from.

Thanking and praising God in all things,

Mark

Note: While we may not agree with everything a particular church or Christian group teaches or believes, there are times when we can be blessed by something outside the realm of our current understanding of God.
